Sign up for a developer account and get a key

Signing up as a developer is free. You get a developer account on the sandbox plan and a test key straight away, shown once on the developer dashboard.

If you are new to Rally & Roam

1. Go to Developers and choose Get a free key, or go straight to the developer join page. 2. Enter your name, email and a password. 3. Tick the box to agree to the terms and the API terms. 4. Choose Create account and get my key.

If you already have an account

1. Sign in and open the developer dashboard. 2. Under Open a developer account, tick I agree to the API terms. 3. Choose Get my sandbox key.

Copy your key now

Your key starts with pk_test_. Copy it as soon as it appears and keep it somewhere safe. We only store a scrambled version (a hash), so we cannot show it again. If you lose it, rotate it to get a new one.

What the sandbox key can do

Test keys read real data and check bookings fully, but they never store a booking, email anyone or charge anything. That makes them safe for building and testing. To use live keys you need a paid plan and two-factor sign-in, see plans and limits.

Send your first call

Send the key as a bearer token on every request:

The real base address is shown on the Developers page under Endpoints, and on your dashboard.

One developer account is linked to one Rally & Roam account. The API terms ask for one account per person or business.
