Change your password

You can change your password at any time in Settings, in the Email and password section. You need your current password.

Change it

1. Open Settings and choose Email and password. 2. Under Password, enter your Current password. 3. Enter your New password, then type it again in New password again. 4. Choose Change password.

We then email you to say your password was changed. If you did not change it, the email has a link to reset it.

Password rules

- At least 10 characters. - A short sentence is easier to remember than a jumble of letters. - On the live site, we refuse passwords that have appeared in known data breaches. We check this without sending your password anywhere: only a small part of a scrambled version leaves our servers.

Joined with Google or Apple?

If you joined with Google or Apple, you may not have a password yet. Choose Forgotten it? on the sign-in page to set one. See reset a forgotten password.

Do not know your current password?

Sign out and use Forgotten it? on the sign-in page instead.

After a change

Changing your password does not sign out your other browsers on its own. To be sure, open Settings, Security and choose Sign out other sessions. See sign out other sessions and apps.
