Rally & Roam

Mexicano

Scored like an Americano, but after the first round players are paired by the live standings so matches stay close: first and fourth play second and third, and so on down the courts.

Was sich gegenüber einem Standardmatch ändert

Rally-point scoring and individual totals replace games and sets. Pairings are made from the standings after every round, not from a schedule. As in an Americano, the organiser sets the serving pattern.

Die Regeln

Round one is drawn at random, by sign-up order or by a balanced draw. Every rally scores one point, and each player adds the pair's score to their total. After each round, rank all players by their totals. Put the top four on court 1, the next four on court 2, and so on. On each court, first and fourth in that group partner each other against second and third. You may play with the same partner more than once. Close matches matter more than variety. The event lasts a set number of rounds or until time runs out. The highest total wins, with ties split by the announced order.

So läuft es ab

Draw round one and play it as an Americano round. Collect all scores before making the next round, because one late score changes every pairing. Rank players, split any ties with your announced rule, and fill the courts from the top down. Pair first and fourth against second and third on each court, unless you announced another balancing method. Repeat for the planned number of rounds. One app suggests 7 rounds for a two-hour session. Announce the final totals and settle ties as announced.
