Single elimination (knockout)
Lose once and you are out. Winners move on round by round until two pairs meet in the final. LTA graded tournaments use elimination draws, usually with a consolation or compass section.
Was sich gegenüber einem Standardmatch ändert
One defeat ends your title chance. The number of matches you play depends on how far you go. The match format can be shortened by the event, for example to short sets to 4 games.
Die Regeln
Pairs are placed in the draw: seeds in set positions, the rest by a random draw. A pair with a bye goes straight to the second round. Each match produces one winner, who moves on, and one loser, who goes out. The two pairs left play the final, and the winner is champion. A third-place match or a consolation draw is optional and must be announced. Every match uses the announced scoring and the FIP rules of play.
So läuft es ab
Close entries, accept pairs by the event's rules and seed them by ranking. Make the draw with seeds and byes, and publish the order of play. Run the rounds, entering results as they finish. Run any consolation section alongside the main draw. Play the final and present the trophies.
