Standard doubles
The game the FIP rules describe: two pairs on a 20 by 10 m court, an underarm serve into the diagonal box, one bounce before the walls, and games, sets and matches scored as agreed beforehand.

Women's doubles
Women's doubles is standard doubles with women on court. The FIP rules are the same for every category: the same court, ball, serve, walls and scoring.
Mixed doubles
Each pair has one woman and one man. Everything is played as normal except the deciding point: on a golden point or a star point, the player who receives must be the same sex as the server.
Advantage scoring
The classic way to score a game, and option 1 in the FIP rules: at 40-all it is deuce, and a pair must win two points in a row to take the game, however long that takes.
Star point
Option 2 in the 2026 FIP rules and the scoring the professional tours use: at deuce, two rounds of advantage are played, and if the game reaches deuce a third time, one deciding point, the star point, settles it.
Golden point
Option 3 in the FIP rules, also called no advantage: at 40-all, one deciding point settles the game. The receiving pair chooses which side receives it and cannot swap places; in mixed play the receiver is the same sex as the server.
