This policy explains how ads on Rally & Roam are chosen, which information that uses, which information it never uses, and what advertisers see. It is written for players and advertisers alike. Our privacy policy covers everything else we do with personal information, and our cookie policy lists every cookie we use.

Contextual, not tracking

Ads on Rally & Roam are chosen from the page you are looking at and a small number of facts about the request, not from a profile of you. We do not use tracking cookies or similar technology to choose or measure ads, we do not follow you across other websites, we do not buy data about you, and we do not let advertisers place their own tracking pixels or scripts on our pages.

What targeting can use

Option	What it is based on
Country and destination	The country or padel destination the page is about. For pages about nowhere in particular, the country your connection comes from, worked out from the IP address at the time and not stored with the ad record.
Radius around a city	Whether the club, coach, place or guide the page is about lies inside the circle the advertiser chose.
Playing level	If you are signed in, the playing level on your profile (0 to 7). Otherwise, the level a page is written for, where it has one.
Language	The language the page is shown in.
Signed in or not	Whether you are signed in to a player account.
Device	Whether the request comes from a phone, tablet, computer or our app, read from the browser's user agent at the time.

Every ad has a "Why this ad" note that tells you which of these made it eligible to show.

What targeting never uses

Your name, email address, phone number, exact location or precise age.
Your bookings, messages, match videos, AI coach reports, payments or the people you play with.
Special category information, such as health, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or political views, or anything that could stand in for it. Women-only games and groups are never used to target ads.
Lists of people uploaded by advertisers, or "lookalike" audiences.

Frequency caps without cookies

So you do not see the same ad over and over, we limit how often an ad shows to the same viewer. To do this without cookies, we combine the IP address and browser user agent into a one-way code (a hash) mixed with a secret that changes every day. The code cannot be turned back into the address, is not linked to your account, and stops matching at the end of each day.

Measuring ads

We record when an ad is shown, when it is viewable and when it is clicked, with the time, placement, country, device type and the daily code above. We do not record the full IP address with these events.
Automated traffic, such as search engine crawlers and other bots, is left out using our own lists of known crawlers and our scraper protection, and repeated events are counted once.
If you click an ad and, within 7 days, make a booking, start a membership or place a shop order on Rally & Roam, we count a conversion for that ad. These are events on our own platform; nothing is shared with the advertiser's site to do this.
Event records are kept for 13 months and then deleted. Daily totals are kept for as long as the advertiser's account needs them for reports and invoices.

What advertisers see

Advertisers see totals and breakdowns by day, placement, country, device and ad: impressions, viewable impressions, clicks, conversions and spend. They never see who saw or clicked an ad, your profile or your account. If an advertiser runs a promoted listing for their own club, coach profile or place, what they see about bookings made through that listing follows our partner terms, as for any other booking.

Our lawful basis

We choose and measure ads under our legitimate interests in funding a free service and showing advertisers honest results, balanced against your interests by the limits in this policy. Because no cookies or similar technology are used to store or read information on your device for ads, this does not need your cookie consent. Google advertising signals, if we use them, only run if you allow them in the cookie choices; see our cookie policy.

Your choices

You can remove the playing level from your profile, or sign out, and ads will no longer use it.
You can object to how we use your information for ads, or ask about it, as set out in our privacy policy.
