Rally & Roam

Creative best practice

How to write and design ads that padel players notice, trust and click.

Overview

Padel players on Rally & Roam are usually doing something specific: finding a court, choosing a coach, planning a trip or learning a shot. The ads that work are the ones that help with that.

Match the moment

- Write for the page your ad appears on. On a city guide, talk about playing in that city. On the learn hub, talk about getting better. - Use targeting to keep each ad relevant: one ad for beginners, another for strong club players, rather than one ad for everyone. - Put the offer first. "Two hours' court time for the price of one, weekday mornings" beats "Welcome to our club".

Headlines and text

- Keep headlines short and concrete. Name the thing: the club, the racket, the camp, the city. - Use the text line for the one detail that makes someone click: a price, a date, a level, a distance. - Write in sentence case, without all capitals, emoji or exclamation marks. - Every claim must be true and something you can prove. "Best club in Spain" needs evidence; "8 indoor courts, 10 minutes from the airport" does not. - Show the full price, with any compulsory fees.

Images

- Use real photos of your courts, products, coaches or players, with permission. Players can tell a stock photo from a real club. - Keep text on the image to a minimum, so it reads on a phone. - Make sure the subject is clear in a small crop: the image may show at a few centimetres wide. - Light, sharp images in the recommended size look best beside our own photos.

Buttons and landing pages

- Pick the button that says what happens: "Book a court" if the page takes a booking, "Learn more" if it explains. - Send people to the page that matches the ad, not your home page. - Make sure the page loads quickly on a phone and the offer is visible without scrolling.

Carousels

- Lead with the strongest card; most people see the first one and a half cards. - Give each card its own landing page, such as one product or one court type per card. - Keep the cards visually consistent so they read as one ad.

Promoted listings

A promoted listing uses your listing exactly as players see it, so improve the listing itself: real photos, current prices, opening hours, court details and a way to book. A complete listing gets more from the same day rate.

Test and learn

- Change one thing at a time: the image, the headline or the targeting, not all three. - Run a test for at least a few days before deciding. - Compare conversions and cost per conversion as well as clicks.
