This page explains what happens to the match and technique videos you upload or record with Rally & Roam, and how the separate, optional consent works that lets us use your videos to improve our video analysis (the AI coach). It adds detail to our privacy policy and our AI features page.

The short version

Your videos are yours. We use them to give you your analysis, and we only show them to the people you choose.
Using your videos to train our video analysis is off unless you turn it on.
To turn it on you must be 18 or over, by the date of birth you gave us, and confirm that everyone you film has agreed. If the date of birth you give us shows you are under 18, training consent is switched off.
You can switch it on or off for each video, and withdraw for all your videos at once at any time.

Your videos

Who can see them

Each video has its own visibility: private (only you), followers (people who follow you) or public (any member). You can change it at any time from the video. Recordings made by court cameras always start as private; see our court cameras notice.

If you share a video with a coach, for example to ask for a coach video review, that coach can see the video and its report.

Analysis

When you ask for an analysis, your video is sent to our video analysis service. It works out the court, the players, the ball and your shots, and sends back a report with clips, highlights and statistics. Once we have copied the results back to your account, we ask the service to delete the job, and the video is deleted from the service with it. The report and clips are kept with your video on your account.

Where they are stored

Videos are stored with our storage provider, listed on our sub-processors page. Uploads you start but do not finish are cleaned up automatically after two days.

Filming other people

Padel is played by four. When you upload a video that shows other players, make sure they are happy to be filmed and for the video to be stored and analysed. Do not make a video showing other people public without their agreement, and take extra care with anyone under 18. Our community guidelines apply to every video.

Helping train the AI coach

What it means

If you opt in, your match and technique videos can be used to teach our analysis models to recognise padel shots and movement, so the analysis gets more accurate for everyone. Training videos are never shown to anyone else or shared outside Rally & Roam.

Off by default. Nobody's videos are used for training unless they turn it on.
Per account. You turn it on in your settings. Before you can, you must tick: "I am 18 or over, and everyone I film has agreed to the video being used this way."
Per video. Your account choice is the starting setting for each new video you upload. You can switch any single video on or off. A video can only be switched on while your account consent is on.
Only with both. A video is used for training only when your account consent and that video's switch are both on.

Withdrawing

You can withdraw at any time from your settings. Withdrawing on your account switches off every one of your videos straight away. We build a fresh list of permitted videos before every training run, so a video you switch off is left out of every run that starts after that. A model that finished training before you withdrew may already have learned from the video; we cannot take that learning back out of a finished model, but the video is not used again.

How we protect training videos

The training list identifies members only by a coded reference, not by name or email address.
The links our training system uses to fetch videos stop working after two hours.
Videos whose account owner has not confirmed they are 18 or over are never on the training list.

Our legal basis

We analyse your videos because you ask us to, as part of providing our service to you. We use them for training only with your consent, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing does not affect training that happened before.

Your rights and questions

Our privacy policy explains your rights, including how to download your data. If you have a question about your videos or training consent, ask us through the Help centre once you are signed in.
