Rally & Roam

Calling a let too late

A let has to be claimed the moment it happens. If you play on and ask afterwards, you have lost the right to it, and if the umpire decides a let you asked for is not justified, you lose the point.

Straight away

When something happens that you think calls for a let, such as a ball rolling on from the next court, tell the umpire at once. If play continues, you can no longer claim it.

No second chances

You cannot keep a let in your pocket. Playing on to see how the rally turns out, then asking for a replay when it goes badly, is exactly what the rule stops.

The umpire decides

Once a let has been asked for, the umpire decides whether it is justified. If it is not, the player who asked loses the point. In social games, the four of you decide together, and an honest replay is the usual answer to real doubt.

Preguntas

Can you call a let after the point in padel?

No. A let must be called straight away. If play carries on, the right to it is lost.

What if a let is refused?

In a refereed match, the player who asked loses the point.
