Hitting the ball before it crosses the net
You must wait until the ball has crossed to your side before you hit it. Reaching over to volley a ball still on their side loses the point.
Wait for it
Hitting the ball before it has passed over the net to your side loses the point.
The ball that spins back
If your shot bounces in their court and spins or is blown back over the net, the other pair may reach over to hit it, as long as they do not touch the net or your court. A return played that way is good.
