Targeting

Overview

Targeting decides where your ads are eligible to show. On Rally & Roam it works from the page and the request, not from a profile of the person. We use no tracking cookies for ads and never follow anyone across other websites.

Targeting options

You can combine options. An ad set targeting Spain, levels 2 to 4, phones only, for example, shows on pages about places in Spain, to members whose level is 2 to 4 or on pages written for those levels, when the request comes from a phone.

Countries and destinations

Pick whole countries or our padel destinations. A page about a club, coach, city guide or destination is matched to where that place is. For pages about nowhere in particular, such as the learn hub, we use the country the request comes from, worked out at the time and not stored with the ad record.

Radius around a city

Pick a city and a radius from 5 to 100 km. Your ad is eligible on pages about clubs, coaches, places and guides inside that circle. This suits a club or coach that wants to reach players looking for somewhere to play nearby, including travellers planning a trip there.

Playing level

Choose a range on our 0 to 7 scale. For signed-in members we use the level on their profile. For visitors, and members without a level, we use the level a page is written for where it has one, such as a beginner guide. Leave level open to reach everyone.

Language, signed in and device

- Language matches the language the page is shown in. Write each ad in the language you target. - Signed in or not lets you reach members, visitors, or both. - Device splits phones, tablets, computers and our app.

What we never use

We never target by name, email, exact location, precise age, bookings, messages, videos, payments or the people someone plays with, and never by health, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or political views. We do not offer uploaded customer lists or lookalike audiences. Women-only games and groups are never used to target ads.

Restricted products and under-18s

We do not target by age. Ads for products that must not be advertised to under-18s, such as alcohol, are never shown on pages about junior padel and must not appeal particularly to under-18s. See the advertising policy.

Frequency caps

To stop the same person seeing an ad too often, we cap how many times it shows to one viewer each day. We do this without cookies, using a one-way code made from the IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be traced back. The full details are in the ad targeting and data use policy.
