Mini-sets to four games
A shorter set from the FIP rules: first to four games with a lead of two, and a tie-break at four-all. In Britain the LTA uses sets to four games at regional and county level.
How it works
Play normal games. The first pair to four games with a lead of two wins the set: 4 to 0, 4 to 1 or 4 to 2. At three-all play on; at four-all a tie-break decides the set five-four.
Everything else
Serving, receiving and changing ends work as in a normal set, and the event chooses advantage, star point or golden point for each game.
FAST4
FAST4 is the name of a short tennis format with sets to four games. Padel events sometimes borrow the name; the event rules say exactly how ties are settled.
