Star point
The scoring the pro tour uses from 2026: at deuce, play advantage up to twice; if the game comes back to deuce a third time, one deciding point, the star point, settles it.
Where it comes from
The FIP approved the star point in November 2025 as an option in the rules, and Premier Padel and the FIP tours play it from 2026. It caps how long a game can run while keeping some advantage play.
How it works
At 40-all it is deuce 1. The next point gives advantage 1; win the following point and the game is yours, lose it and it is deuce 2. The same happens once more with advantage 2. If the game reaches deuce 3, one point decides it.
The deciding point
As on a golden point, the receiving pair choose to receive on the right or the left and cannot swap places for it. In a mixed match the receiver is the same sex as the server.
