Some parts of Rally & Roam use artificial intelligence (AI). This page explains where, what the AI can and cannot do, who checks it, and which providers handle your information when it runs. It sits alongside our terms of use and our privacy policy.

Our AI features are new and we are still improving them. They can make mistakes, so please treat what they say as a helpful starting point, not as the final word.

Where we use AI

Text features, written with Claude

These features use Anthropic's Claude models to write or improve text:

The concierge. The trip planning chat asks you questions about where you want to go, when, your level and your budget, and suggests destinations, clubs and plans. Every reply starts from our own data. Claude may then polish the wording. A polished reply that names a club, place or price we did not supply is thrown away and our own wording is used instead. The concierge tells you that replies are written with AI and checked against our club list, and that prices are estimates.
Message translation. When you ask to translate a message from another member, Claude translates it and the translation is labelled "Translated by AI".
The help assistant. In the Help centre, Claude writes an answer to your question from our best matching help articles and links to them.
Your training plan note. Training plans are built by rules from your answers. Claude may add a short personal note on top, labelled as a note from your AI coach.
The racket finder. Recommendations come from rules and the specifications partner shops publish. Claude may add a short note to explain the result.
City guide introductions. Our staff can ask Claude to reword the introduction of a city guide from facts we give it. A rewrite that adds a number that was not in those facts, or comes back empty, is thrown away.
Draft translations of our pages. Claude can draft translations of site content for our review queue. Nothing is published until a member of our team approves it.

Video analysis: the AI coach

The AI coach is our video analysis. It is not Claude. It is our own computer vision service, which looks at a match or technique video and finds the court, the players, the ball and your shots, then builds a report with clips and statistics. It runs on cloud graphics processors and, while we develop it, on a server we run ourselves. Our video and training data page explains what happens to your videos.

The analysis is still being developed. It can miss or misread shots, confuse players, lose the ball and get statistics wrong, especially with poor light, a low or moving camera, or players hidden behind the glass. If the analysis service is not available, you see a sample report instead. Sample reports are clearly labelled as samples and are not measured from your footage.

When AI is not available

Every text feature above works without AI. Each one has a written answer built from our own data, and Claude only improves it. If Claude fails, is slow or is paused, you get that written answer instead. We pause calls to Claude for a short while after certain failures, such as an outage, so that nobody waits for a request that cannot succeed.

What AI can and cannot do

AI can be wrong. It can misunderstand you, leave things out or state something untrue with confidence. Check anything important, such as prices, opening times, travel rules and visa or health requirements, with the club, the provider or an official source before you rely on it.
Prices in the concierge are estimates. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
Nothing an AI feature says is professional, medical, legal, financial or travel advice. Training notes and video analysis are not a substitute for a qualified coach or a doctor. If you have an injury or a health condition, ask a medical professional before you change how you train.
AI features never make a booking, payment or other decision about you on their own. You always choose what to book or buy.

Human review

If you want a person's view of your game, you can ask a coach for a paid video review. The coach sees your video and the AI report and writes their own feedback. See coach video reviews.
Draft translations of our pages are only published after a member of our team approves them.
If an AI answer is wrong, unsafe or offensive, tell us through the Help centre and we will look at it.

Limits on use

On a free account, the concierge allows up to 5 trip plans and 80 messages a day. Premium members have no daily limit. Video analysis allowances depend on your plan and are set out in our membership terms.

Your information and our AI providers

Anthropic. When a text feature uses Claude, we send Anthropic what that feature needs: for example your concierge messages and trip details, the message you asked to translate, your help question, or the facts behind your training plan. Anthropic acts as our processor under a contract, which means it handles the information only to provide the service to us. We do not send your password or payment details.
Video analysis. Your video is sent to our video analysis service, which deletes it when the job ends, once we have copied the results back to your account.
We do not use your messages or concierge chats to train AI models. Your videos are only used to train our video analysis if you opt in; see video and training data consent.

Our sub-processors page lists the providers we use, and our privacy policy explains your rights.
