Rule 11: interference
Interference is anything a player does, on purpose or not, that puts an opponent off while they play a shot. Deliberate interference loses the point; involuntary interference means a let, until the same pair do it a second time.
Clause 1: What interference is
Interference is any action by a player, deliberate or involuntary, that puts an opponent off while they are playing a shot.
Clause 2: Deliberate interference loses the point
If the interference is deliberate, the umpire gives the point to the opponents.
Clause 3: Accidental interference means let
If the interference is involuntary, the umpire calls a let and the point is played again.
Clause 4: A second involuntary one
If the same pair cause involuntary interference a second time, they lose the point and it goes to the other pair. So an accident is forgiven once, but not twice.
