Struktury rozgrywek

Każdy z każdym, grupy i faza pucharowa, podwójna eliminacja, drabinki kompasowe, ligi i mecze drużynowe.

Round robin

Every pair in a group plays every other pair once, and a table of results decides the order. The LTA lists it as a draw format for some graded padel tournaments.

Groups then knockout

Pairs play a round robin in groups; the top places in each group go into a knockout that decides the title. The FIP World Padel Championships use this shape for national teams.

Single elimination (knockout)

Lose once and you are out. Winners move on round by round until two pairs meet in the final. LTA graded tournaments use elimination draws, usually with a consolation or compass section.

Double elimination

Every pair can lose once: after a first defeat you drop into a losers' draw, and a second defeat puts you out.

Consolation and compass draws

Draws that give losers more matches: pairs who lose early play on for lower places. The LTA uses consolation and compass draws across its graded padel tours.

Leagues and challenge ladders

Leagues play fixtures over weeks with a table and often promotion and relegation. In a challenge ladder you challenge pairs a few places above you and take their place if you win.

Team matches between clubs and countries

In team competitions, such as club leagues or national team championships, a tie is made up of several doubles matches. The team that wins most of them wins the tie.
